Evaluating Public Policies in Fire-affected Conservation Priority Areas of the Brazilian Pantanal
This article, published in Environmental Management, investigates the effectiveness of conservation policies in the Brazilian Pantanal following recent, severe wildfire events. We assessed whether existing public policies are successfully protecting designated priority areas for conservation. Our key finding identifies a critical implementation gap, where formally protected areas remain vulnerable on the ground. The research provides specific, evidence-based recommendations to improve environmental governance and strengthen the resilience of this globally significant wetland. For a full-text, view-only version, please use the Springer Nature SharedIt link: https://rdcu.be/ezXwM
