Crop diversification through crop mix optimization can alleviate soil antibiotic stresses
We integrated machine learning, multi-objective optimization, and spatial planning models to develop a comprehensive framework for analyzing and optimizing global crop distribution. This methodological framework enables us to identify which specific crops play a critical role in influencing soil antibiotic pollution, to determine where and to what extent crop redistribution should be performed for maximum agricultural and environmental outcomes. This approach addresses key questions about the feasibility of achieving both reduced antibiotic pollution and increased crop diversity through optimized crop management, providing valuable insights into targeted crop redistribution strategies.
