EXCELLENT CALCULATION ALSO SOMETIMES FAIL

This article explores the limitations of scientific calculations through a case study of a small village facing a water crisis. International scientists calculated that the village’s water source—a pond—would last a year, yet their prediction failed due to unforeseen natural factors. This case highlights the failure of even precise calculations and examines the unpredictability of natural systems. Relevant formulas used in the calculations, such as water balance equations and groundwater flow models, are also discussed, demonstrating how variables beyond control can undermine precise results.
