REGENERATIVE HOSPITALITY IN A POST-CARBON WORLD: REDESIGNING CULINARY SOURCING, GUEST EXPERIENCE, AND ENERGY SYSTEMS IN CLIMATE-CONSCIOUS HOTEL ECOSYSTEMS
As the hospitality industry confronts intensifying climate pressures and post-carbon transition imperatives, regenerative hospitality has emerged as a forward-looking framework that transcends sustainability by aiming to restore, replenish, and co-evolve with ecosystems and communities. This paper explores how hotels and resorts are redesigning culinary sourcing, guest experience, and energy systems to function as climate-conscious, regenerative ecosystems. The paper examines the integration of agroecological food systems, participatory guest models, and decentralized clean energy networks. Drawing on literature and recent field practices, the study maps out a regenerative hospitality model capable of delivering net-positive environmental and social outcomes. By aligning hospitality operations with regenerative principles, the sector can move from merely reducing harm to actively generating value for ecosystems and local communities.
