Hyper-Resolution Surface Diffusion Mapping using Integrated Quantum Tunneling Microscopy and Markov Chain Monte Carlo Simulation for Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) Process Optimization
**Abstract:** This research introduces a novel methodology for characterizing and optimizing surface diffusion dynamics within Ultra-High Vacuum (UHV) Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) environments. By integrating a modified Quantum Tunneling Microscopy (QTM) for high-resolution surface topography with a Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) simulation framework, we develop a data-driven model capable of predicting adatom diffusion pathways and growth morphology with unprecedented accuracy. This framework offers immediate commercial viability through precise control of MBE growth parameters, leading to significant gains in film quality and device performance. Our approach avoids reliance on traditional, computationally expensive Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations, facilitating real-time process adjustments and enabling the creation of advanced heterostructures with tailored properties.
