A rare case of an impacted manibular third molar with five roots: a case report of an unusual morphology
Third molars frequently present with anomalies in eruption and root morphology. This case report highlights an extremely rare presentation of a mandibular third molar (tooth 38) with five distinct roots. A 25-year-old male reported with pain in the lower left posterior region. Clinical and radiographic examination confirmed impaction and the presence of multiple roots. Surgical extraction revealed an unusual five-rooted anatomy. The report underscores the importance of anatomical variations in treatment planning and highlights the value of radiographic and clinical evaluation in managing complex third molar cases.
