Smart Animal Detection and Deterrence Device for Road Safety
This invention introduces a smart device designed to detect animals near roadways and prevent collisions with vehicles. Utilizing motion sensors (PIR), thermal cameras, and simple image-processing algorithms, the device activates deterrents such as flashing lights, warning sounds (e.g., predator calls), and unnatural odors (e.g., predator urine scent) to divert animals from traffic paths. Additionally, glow-in-the-dark road strips provide passive visual cues for both animals and drivers. The system is independent of the electrical grid, making it suitable for diverse environments.
