THE IMPORTANCE OF AUDIO-MULTIMEDIA MATERIALS IN TEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGES

This paper explores the growing significance of audio-multimedia materials in foreign language instruction. In an era of rapid technological development, traditional teaching methods are increasingly being replaced or supplemented by multimedia-enhanced strategies. Various methodologies—including the Direct Method, the Silent Way, and Communicative Language Teaching (CLT)—have evolved to incorporate visual, audio, and interactive materials. This paper highlights how multimedia tools such as video, PowerPoint, and authentic audio-visual resources can enhance engagement, comprehension, motivation, and language competence. The discussion is contextualized with references to global practices and challenges, particularly within EFL (English as a Foreign Language) classrooms.
