Interactive Graphical Interface and Convergence Analysis of Taman Tasik Taiping: Utilising the Newton Backward Divided Difference Method for Educational Purpose

In this recent years, world are more depending on technologies. Therefore, in order to solve the mathematical problems, it is vital to implement the use of technology. This research is focuses on determining the perimeter of unsymmetrical objects by using the numerical analysis which is Newton Backward Divided Difference Interpolation method. Additionally, this research is to analyse the convergence of approximate perimeter which is to validate the method use to obtain the perimeter. Therefore, this work presents a MATLAB-based graphical user interface (GUI) for approximating and analyse the convergence of the perimeter of Taman Tasik Taiping with Newton Backward Divided difference interpolation method. Data was gathered by mapping the lake's map on graph paper and graphing coordinates, beginning with two points per region and then increasing to seven points. The GUI makes it easy to input and visualise data while computing the arc length for perimeter calculation. The results show that as the number of point increases, the approximate perimeter approaches the actual perimeter. This illustrates the applicability of numerical approaches and user-friendly tools for precise geographical perimeter analysis. As a result, this method prove the benefits of mathematical approach which can be benefit in real world problems. Hence, this method may be future potential for solving the perimeter with complex shape of objects or places.

Abstract

In this recent years, world are more depending on technologies. Therefore, in order to solve the mathematical problems, it is vital to implement the use of technology. This research is focuses on determining the perimeter of unsymmetrical objects by using the numerical analysis which is Newton Backward Divided Difference Interpolation method.
