STRATEGY FOR CREATING RECREATIONAL AREAS IN THE URBAN ENVIRONMENT (A CASE STUDY OF THE CITY OF AKTOBE)

This article focuses on strategic approaches to the design and organization of recreational spaces within the landscape structure of the city of Aktobe (Kazakhstan), aimed at improving the quality of the urban environment and residents’ quality of life. Special attention is given to the principles of sustainable development, biodesign, and the multifunctionality of urban landscapes. The paper examines the climatic, sociocultural, and ecological characteristics of the region, which form the basis for developing design principles adapted to local conditions. In the context of growing urbanization and increasing climate challenges, the creation of a comfortable and resilient urban environment in Central Asia is becoming especially relevant. The article provides a detailed analysis of key directions for establishing effective recreational areas, including the implementation of drought-resistant plant communities and modern water-saving technologies; ensuring accessibility and inclusiveness of recreational spaces for all population groups; and the development of ecological corridors to support biodiversity. Innovative solutions are presented, such as systems for collecting and reusing rainwater, vertical greening technologies, and the creation of microclimatic zones with controlled environmental parameters. Particular emphasis is placed on integrating urban planning practices with the region's natural-climatic conditions and cultural-historical heritage. The article concludes with a conceptual model for the development of urban recreational spaces that combines ecological, social, and technological design aspects.
