Case Series on Gallbladder Perforation: Clinical Observations from a Tertiary Care Hospital
Gallbladder perforation, though relatively uncommon, poses a significant threat when it occurs. It typically presents as an acute abdominal emergency and can be triggered by neglected cholecystitis, abdominal trauma, or systemic infections like typhoid fever [1,2]. Delayed recognition and management can lead to high morbidity. Timely intervention remains the cornerstone of successful outcomes \[3]. Typhoid-related gallbladder perforation, although rare, should be considered, especially in endemic regions such as India [6]. This case series explores the clinical features, diagnostic approach, surgical intervention, and recovery of four patients treated for gallbladder perforation in a tertiary care hospital.
