This therevid is recorded in British Columbia from Vancouver Island (Bowser, Nanaimo) east to the Okanagan Valley (Oliver, Vernon) and Columbia River (Robson). Its range probably includes the southern valleys east to the Rocky Mountains and north to the Thompson drainage, based on data from adjacent jurisdictions. Ecoprovinces and other designations. In British Columbia, O. signatipennis has been collected in a shrub thicket (Rosa woodsii and Crataegus douglasii) in Festuca grassland, in an aspen draw in Pinus ponderosa woodland, and along a sandy lakeshore.
