ENHANCING POTASH ORE PURIFICATION: HYDROSEPARATOR PERFORMANCE IN REMOVING INSOLUBLE SLUDGE FROM THE KHODJAIKON DEPOSIT
The document discusses the use of hydrocyclones to remove insoluble sludge from potash ores in the Khodjaikon deposit. Potash fertilizers, particularly potassium chloride (KCl), are important for plant development, cold stress resistance, and crop productivity. However, potash ores often contain water-insoluble residues that can negatively impact the quality of the final product and the efficiency of the extraction process. The document also presents data on the performance of the hydrocyclone system in removing insoluble sludge from sylvinite ore. The results show that the installation of an additional hydroseparator can increase the degree of desliming from 55.8-60.1% to 73.-74.1%, while maintaining a low potassium chloride content of 19.5-30.1%. This allows for the inclusion of low-grade sylvinite ores with a high insoluble residue content in the technological process. The unique insights from this document highlight the potential of using hydrocyclone-based systems to improve the efficiency of potash ore processing and reduce the environmental impact of the industry.
