Automated Anomaly Detection and Predictive Maintenance in Magnetar Pulse Profile Dynamics using Multi-Modal Fusion and Reinforcement Learning (AMPD-MFR)
**Abstract:** Magnetar pulse profiles, characterized by their rapid variability and complex temporal structure, remain a significant challenge for consistent and predictive analysis. This paper introduces Automated Anomaly Detection and Predictive Maintenance (AMPD-MFR), a novel framework leveraging multi-modal data fusion and reinforcement learning to identify subtle deviations from expected pulse profile behavior, forecasting potential instrumental malfunctions and degradation of observing conditions before significant data loss occurs. Our approach integrates radio frequency interferometry (RFI) metrics, atmospheric opacity data, and pulse profile time series data processed through a deep convolutional recurrent neural network, yielding a robust and scalable system for long-term monitoring and reliable data acquisition. This technology directly addresses a critical bottleneck in magnetar astrophysics, potentially enabling significantly improved scientific return from future observations.
