Quantum Action Theory

Modern physics is founded upon two remarkably successful yet fundamentally incompatible theoretical pillars: General Relativity, which describes a deterministic, geometric cosmos, and Quantum Mechanics, which describes a probabilistic, discrete reality. This foundational schism has left physics without a single, coherent ontology, forcing an acceptance of non-local paradoxes and a retreat from mechanical causality. This monograph presents Quantum Action Theory (QAT), a novel framework that resolves this conflict by positing a single substance for all physical phenomena: a dynamic, non-linear Action Field. QAT re-interprets fundamental particles not as point-like entities, but as stable, h-quantized, resonant standing waves—or Universal Oscillators (Psi)—within this field. From this single premise, the core tenets and unsolved problems of modern physics are resolved as emergent, calculable consequences of a single, unified equation of motion. The Standard Model and Mass Hierarchy Derived from First Principles: The entire particle zoo is shown to be the predictable harmonic spectrum of this single oscillator. We derive the masses of the lepton family (electron, muon, tau), the meson family (pion, kaon), the baryon family (proton), the neutrino, and the Higgs boson from first principles as the l = 1, l = 2, and l = 3 structural modes of this oscillator. The model is governed by only two fundamental constants: the electron mass (m_e, setting the energy scale) and a new, derived Non-Linearity Constant (k, defining the field's elasticity). The astonishing numerical identity between this non-linearity constant (k) and the intrinsic mass of the neutrino (m_0 approx 0.0087 eV/c^2) further reveals the universe's fundamental constant of elasticity. Unification of the Four Forces: The fundamental forces are revealed to be different mechanical aspects of the Action Field and its harmonics. The Strong Force is the non-linear binding energy of composite (l = 2, l = 3) oscillators. The Weak Force is the mechanical process of harmonic collapse between resonant states, mechanically driven by the field's intrinsic electron-proton duality. Electromagnetism is the far-field stress projected by a charged oscillator's precession. Gravity is the collective tension of the field itself. Relativity and Quantum Gravity Solved: The principles of Special Relativity are derived from the geometric reconfiguration of the Psi oscillator under kinetic stress. General Relativity emerges as the large-scale mechanics of a field under tension, where the QAT gravitational tensor (G_QAT_munu) is derived directly from the gradients of the Psi Dirac spinor field. This framework naturally produces spin-2 gravitational waves, resolves the black hole information paradox by defining the singularity as a finite Field Saturation Limit, and offers mechanical explanations for dark matter (as large-scale coherent field stress) and dark energy (as the Action Field's intrinsic tension). By providing a tangible, deterministic, and causal mechanism for all physical laws, QAT aims not to replace current physics, but to provide the single, unified foundation upon which its predictive successes rest—ultimately "giving physics its gears back" and recovering an intelligible, mechanical universe.
