Decoding Factors Affecting Women Entrepreneurship in Small and Micro Enterprises
Abstract: Women entrepreneurship has emerged as a key driver of economic growth and gender equality. However, women continue to face significant barriers such as financial limitations and societal norms. This study examines the factors influencing the performance of women-led small and micro enterprises in Rajasthan, India. Data from 200 women entrepreneurs were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS, including T-tests, ANOVA, and post hoc tests. The study identifies key motivators such as economic independence, self-actualization, educational qualifications, government support, self-identity, and social recognition. Among these, economic factors were found to have the most significant impact on women's entrepreneurial pursuits, followed by social factors. The findings underscore the need for targeted policies and support systems to foster women’s participation in entrepreneurship and to bridge the gender gap in business. This study contributes to the understanding of challenges and drivers in women entrepreneurship.
