A COMPARATIVE EVALUATION OF ASSESSING GINGIVAL BIOTYPE IN DENTATE SUBJECTS: AN IN VIVO STUDY

The accurate assessment of gingival biotype is critical in periodontal diagnosis, treatment planning, and predicting the outcomes of restorative and surgical procedures. This study aimed to evaluate and compare three clinical methods—visual inspection, transgingival probing, and the endodontic reamer technique—for determining gingival biotype as either thick or thin. Thirty periodontally healthy subjects aged 20–25 years were assessed using all three methods.
