Abstract

Entrepreneurship as a concept is part of the curriculum in use in Nigerian education policy. The take up and proper implementation for the development of entrepreneurial skills and mindset raise so many questions including effective teaching methodology. The content provides much pedagogy that will result to producing graduates with skills, mindset, and confidence to explore, identify, develop and sustain business of their own rather than waiting for job. In this respect are institutions to teach or to train for students’ entrepreneurial competence? Though teaching and training are closely related but there is thin blue line that makes the differences. The paper looks into the two terms to make a clear pathway on how to achieve the objectives of infusing entrepreneurship as a concept into the education system. The paper is of the opinion for 6 to 12 months extension to all final year students across all faculties/departments in all tertiary institutions where they are to undergo for extensive entrepreneurial training including lecture delivery from experts, excursion, preparing feasibility report of live business and to be submitted for assessment as condition for their graduation.
