Development of a performance-driven business model for ophthalmic knife manufacturing using diamond dressing solutions
Day by day increasing the demand of precision ophthalmic surgical knife all over the world. Ophthalmic surgical knives are crucial tools in various eye procedures, including cataract surgery and other visioncorrecting surgeries. Diamond grinding wheel is used for removing excess material and consistency the final shape and sharpness of the ophthalmic surgical blades. Dressing of diamond grinding wheels becomes necessary after 300-350 times of knife production to remove worn grain, maintain wheel profile, and ensure a sharp cutting surface for precise grinding operation. This research work focuses on the design and manufacturing of a specialized holding device for diamond wheel dressers, aiming to enhance the efficiency and precision of grinding processes. The proposed device provides a stable platform for securing diamond wheel dressers during the dressing operation, optimizing the truing and shaping of grinding wheels. By improving the stability and repeatability of diamond wheel dressing, this holding device contributes to enhanced surface finish and dimensional accuracy in machined workpieces.
