Comparative Evaluation of Effect of Propofol, Etomidate and a Combination of Propofol and Etomidate on the Hemodynamic Response to Induction and Endotracheal Intubation
Background: This study aimed to compare the hemodynamic effects of three intravenous induction regimens—Propofol alone, Etomidate alone, and a Propofol-Etomidate combination—during anesthesia induction and endotracheal intubation. Given Propofol's known hypotensive properties and Etomidate's cardiovascular stability, the objective was to evaluate whether a combined approach could offer improved hemodynamic control.
