Російська імперськість як екзистенційна загроза: український контекст
The article investigates Russian imperial ideology as a long-term existential threat to Ukrainian statehood, national identity, and civilizational integrity. Drawing on historical retrospection and contemporary geopolitical dynamics, the authors analyze the aggressive policies of the Russian Empire and the Russian Federation aimed at denying Ukraine’s sovereign status, suppressing national memory, and erasing cultural and ethnic distinctiveness. The full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine is interpreted as the latest phase of a centuries-long imperial paradigm. The study highlights the devastating consequences of the war, including genocide, destruction of infrastructure, and violations of international law. It concludes that dismantling Russian imperialism and strengthening Ukraine’s internal and external resilience are vital conditions for regional and global security.
