Evolutionary dynamics of mycobacterium tuberculosis strains: outcome from whole genome sequencing
AbstractEffective control techniques for Mycobacterium tuberculosis are contingent upon an understanding of its evolutionarydynamics, as the disease persists as a hazard to world health. Studies of M. tuberculosis strains can now be conducted withunparalleled detail because to whole genome sequencing (WGS). Whole genome sequencing has made it possible tounderstand these recent discoveries genetic diversity, medication, host-pathogen interactions and transmission dynamic inorder to better understand genetic diversity, medication resistance, host-pathogen interactions, and transmission dynamics.Important discoveries illuminated the evolutionary paths of M. tuberculosis populations, emphasizing processes ofadaptability and suggesting possible areas of intervention. Public health strategies are informed and complete studies oftuberculosis epidemics are made easier by WGS's integration of genomic data with epidemiological and clinical data. Thesignificance of ongoing genetic surveillance and cooperative efforts to fight tuberculosis globally is emphasized by thisreview.
