Design and Implementation of IoT Architecture Layers: Challenges and Future Prospects
Abstract -The Internet of Things (IoT) is a key technology that facilitates real-time communication among physical devices and the digital space. This work discusses the implementation of an all-encompassing IoT architecture leveraging the integration of Firebase Real-time Database, RESTful APIs, and the MQTT protocol to support effective data communication and device control. The system under consideration involves background services for real-time event tracking, local push notifications for security notifications, and Firestore for storage of user profile and device settings. A performance test proved to have low latency, high message delivery, and power consumption optimized for efficiency, making the system scalable and reliable. The paper also identifies challenges faced during implementation and future improvements to enhance security, scalability, and energy efficiency.
