FROM MONOPOLY CONTROL TO MARKET INNOVATION: THE ROLE OF ANTITRUST POLICIES
Antitrust laws are fundamental to the preservation of competitive markets and the protection of consumer welfare. These are the laws that prevent monopolistic practices and encourage fair competition. This article examines the evolution and application of antitrust legislation in two distinct contexts: the United States, with its long history of antitrust laws, the Clayton Act, and the Federal Trade Commission Act, and Uzbekistan, where efforts to establish antitrust legislation have achieved progress in recent decades. This article explores how these laws have changed markets and protected consumers. Furthermore, it discusses Uzbekistan’s path toward connecting its antitrust policies with international standards.
