This paper provides an in-depth examination of Zimbabwe's legal and policy innovations aimed at addressing poverty and hunger, focusing specifically on the National Social Protection Policy (NSPP) and the Zimbabwe National Agriculture Policy (ZNAP). It evaluates these policies’ alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1 and 2, considers their benefits and risks, and explores the impact of climatic phenomena, particularly El Niño, on their effectiveness. By integrating relevant international conventions and recent data, this paper offers a comprehensive understanding of Zimbabwe’s progress toward the 2030 Agenda. This expanded review offers an analysis of Zimbabwe’s policies and their implications for achieving the 2030 Agenda, addressing key issues and providing a detailed assessment of the challenges and opportunities in combating poverty and hunger.
