Assessment of Physical Education Infrastructure in Higher Secondary Schools: A Case Study of Delhi NCR
Abstract: With an emphasis on the quantity, quality, and accessibility of physical resources and facilities, this research assesses the condition of the physical education infrastructure in upper secondary schools across the Delhi National Capital Region (NCR). Highlighting differences between public and private schools, evaluating adherence to national sports and education regulations, and comprehending how infrastructure affects students' physical activity and general well-being are the objectives of the study. Surveys, stakeholder interviews, and on-site observations were all part of the mixed-methods approach used with a representative sample of schools. The results show notable deficiencies in the availability, upkeep, and use of infrastructure, especially in public schools. The report emphasises how urgently budgetary allocation, policy enforcement, and strategic planning are needed to support holistic education via strong physical education infrastructure. Suggestions are made to raise the region's general physical education standards and promote infrastructural fairness.
