AI for Good's "Emperor's New Clothes": Does the Grand Narrative Mask Individual Despair?
This paper critically examines the blind spots within the current "AI for Good" field. The article posits that mainstream narratives often focus on neatly-labeled "vulnerable groups" while overlooking the broader, more hidden individual suffering and despair caused by systemic pressures and marginalization. Through an analysis of the predicaments of both subcultures and ordinary people, this paper argues that true "Good" lies not merely in providing functional, technological solutions, but originates from the act of seeing, accepting, and engaging in profound dialogue with imperfect, struggling individual realities.
