A Comparative Study of Users Preference and Satisfaction Towards OTT Platforms vs Theatrical Experiences
The entertainment industry has witnessed a major shift with the rise of Over-the-Top (OTT) platforms, offering audiences a flexible and personalized viewing experience. Simultaneously, the traditional theatrical experience continues to hold cultural and emotional significance, providing an immersive, social, and collective environment for movie watching. This study aims to comparatively analyse user preferences and satisfaction levels towards OTT platforms and theatrical experiences. It explores key factors influencing choices, such as accessibility, cost, content variety, technological advancements, and social interaction. Through primary data collection and statistical analysis, the study reveals that while OTT platforms have gained significantpopularity, theatres continue to attract audiences for big-budget and socially engaging films. The findings suggest that both mediums are likely to coexist, with user preference depending on content type, convenience, and occasion. The study provides valuable insights for content creators, platform providers, and cinema owners to adapt their strategies according to evolving consumer behaviour.
