Znaczenie wybranych produktów pochodzenia roślinnego w eradykacji Helicobacter pylori u zakażonych pacjentów

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection causes chronic inflammation of the gastric mucosa. The prevalence of infection varies regionally. A higher percentage of infections is recorded in developing countries, which is associated with socioeconomic status and low hygiene standards. The prevalence remains at a much lower level in developed countries. The problem in treating H. pylori infection is related to the resistance of some clinical strains to antibiotic therapy and the occurrence of side effects of pharmacotherapy. Dietary factors can play an important role in supporting the treatment of H. pylori infection. Some food ingredients can have an active effect against H. pylori. The latest guidelines of the working group of the Polish Society of Gastroenterology include recommendations on the use of probiotics in the treatment of H. pylori infection. The beneficial effect of some probiotic strains on increasing the effectiveness of eradication, as well as reducing the occurrence of side effects associated with taking pharmacotherapy, has been proven. The aim of the work is to review the scientific literature and analyze the influence of selected plant products and the influence of selected vitamins and substances contained in food in supporting the treatment of Helicobacter pylori.
