IMPROVING THE PERFORMANCE OF CHROMIUM-MOLYBDENUM STEEL BY ALLOYING WITH NANOMODIFYING ADDITIVES DURING METALLURGICAL PROCESSING
ABSTRACT The paper presents a study of technology for improving the mechanical and operational properties of chromium-molybdenum steel by alloying with nanomodifying additives during metallurgical processing. Methods of introducing nanopowders into a melt are considered, ensuring a uniform distribution of active components and intensification of structural and phase transformations. The use of nanomodifiers contributed to the formation of a finely dispersed structure, a decrease in anisotropy, stabilization of grain boundaries, and the formation of stable carbide and intermetallic phases. The results of metallographic and mechanical tests confirmed an increase in the strength, toughness, and corrosion resistance of the modified steel compared to its unmodified counterpart. It has been established that the introduction of the developed technology contributes to an increase in the resource and reliability of products operated at high temperatures, aggressive environments and variable loads. Examples of industrial applications of nanomodified chromium-molybdenum steel in energy and petrochemical engineering are presented
