Emergent AGI via Internal Dissonance: Dual-Stream Thinking for Self-Aware Cognition
This paper presents a novel framework for Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) based on the concept of internal dissonance between two cognitive streams: a Temporal Stream for sequential reasoning and an Observational Stream for real-time perception. By allowing these two streams to process the same input independently and detect inconsistencies, the system can trigger reflective behavior, goal reevaluation, and self-awareness. The paper outlines the theoretical background, structural implementation, expected emergent behaviors, and ethical considerations. This dual-stream model offers a scalable and reproducible path toward building self-evolving AGI systems.
