A Proposed Hullian Equation for Math Problem Solving Process
The process of problem solving in mathematics (MPS) involves a systematic approach to identifying, analyzing, and solving mathematical challenges. This paper presents a model based on Hull’s framework of learning, incorporating a structured equation to illustrate the key steps involved in MPS: Understanding, Knowledge, Method, Calculation, and Review. The proposed Hullian equation for MPS: S = (U + K + M + C)R, which highlights the cumulative nature of the problem-solving process, with each component contributing to the final solution. This equation emphasizes the importance of strategic planning, accurate computation, and careful evaluation in ensuring the effectiveness of mathematical problem-solving strategies.
