Integration of Solar PV using Z-Source Inverter and Battery Energy Storage System for AC-DC Load Management in Grid-Connected Applications
This paper presents a new grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) system to increase system dependability and energy conversion efficiency by means of a suggested Z-Source Inverter (ZSI). The suggested ZSI provides improved voltage boosting capabilities, less component stress, and simpler design unlike conventional inverters or systems using LCL characteristics in GaN-based single-L quasi-Z-source grid-tied inverters. Under dynamic operation, the suggested ZSI is coupled with a Battery Energy Storage System (BES) to provide flawless power supply, stability, and efficient load control. The main renewable energy source in the system architecture is solar PV; the ZSI converts DC-AC electricity; and a BESS balances supply-demand. The suggested ZSI guarantees effective energy transfer between the PV system, battery, and grid by means of improved control technique, hence reducing power losses and harmonic distortion. This method makes the system small and reasonably affordable by removing the need for outside boost converters. Improved voltage control, greater power quality, and efficient handling of hybrid AC-DC loads help to show in simulation results the better performance of the proposed ZSI over past solutions. More dependable and efficient grid-tied applications are made possible by the suggested method, which presents a viable route for integrating renewable energy into the grid, therefore resolving the issues with traditional inverter systems.
