The 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in Nigeria, faced major disruptions due to widespread technical issues. These problems impacted thousands of candidates across the country, raising fresh concerns about the reliability of Nigeria’s digital examination systems. This paper takes a non-technical look at the glitches, exploring their causes and what they mean for candidates, especially those who aren’t well-versed in digital platforms. It also reviews how institutions responded and suggests ways to improve the digital testing framework. By breaking down complex topics into simpler terms, this work aims to connect technical institutions with the general public, ultimately striving to build more trust, inclusivity, and resilience in Nigeria’s education sector. Keywords: JAMB 2025, CBT, digital literacy, exam glitches, Nigeria
