ALISHER NAVOI'S "KHAMSA" AND THE PORTRAYAL OF THE PERFECT MAN
This research explores the concept of the “Perfect Man” (Insān al-Kāmil) in Alisher Navoi’s monumental poetic cycle Khamsa, emphasizing its philosophical, ethical, and socio-cultural dimensions. The study refrains from direct quotations, relying instead on thematic, structural, and conceptual analysis informed by classical literary criticism and comparative literary studies. The aim is to highlight how Navoi’s works synthesize spiritual ideals and worldly virtues into a unified moral model, reflecting both universal human values and the specific cultural milieu of the Timurid Renaissance. Through a qualitative textual analysis, this paper elucidates the poet’s vision of human perfection, his integration of Sufi metaphysics, and his moral didacticism within the broader framework of Turkic-Persian classical literature. The results reveal that Navoi’s portrayal of the Perfect Man is not only a reflection of Islamic ethical paradigms but also a literary strategy to promote social justice, intellectual refinement, and personal integrity.
