Drive for Lightweight Materials: Unveiling the Potential of Al7075 Aluminum Matrix Composites (AMCs)
Al7075 is a ubiquitous material prized for its exceptional mechanical properties. This work deconstructs the link between microstructure and performance. We employ thermodynamic principles to understand the alloy's stability and phase transformations. Key factors such as the entropy and enthalpy of mixing, alongside topological parameters, are investigated via PTC MATHCAD. This analysis reveals the crucial role of temperature and composition in tailoring material behavior. Notably, Al7075 exhibited solid-solution strengthening, mechanical stability, and good ductility and plasticity. The calculated elastic moduli (Young's, bulk, and shear moduli) suggest high stiffness and isotropic behavior. This comprehensive exploration elucidates the factors governing the exceptional performance of Al7075, paving the way for further optimization in various industrial applications
