Effect of Gamma Radiation on the Drug Release Mechanism from Poly(vinyl) Alcohol Gel Nanocarriers

This dataset supports a study investigating the effect of gamma irradiation on the drug release behavior of BSA-loaded poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) hydrogel nanoparticles. Nanocarriers were synthesized via a freeze–thaw emulsification method and exposed to increasing doses of gamma radiation (0–80 Gy). The dataset includes raw and processed values for particle size distribution, protein loading efficiency, cumulative drug release kinetics, and FTIR spectral data across radiation doses. These data elucidate a dual mechanism of radiation-induced crosslinking and degradation affecting matrix integrity and release profiles. The study provides insights into tuning nanocarrier performance using therapeutic radiation, with applications in oncology-related drug delivery. This research was conducted under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (Grant No. 101067240).

Abstract
