Subject-Publication of Mini Review (Title) - Traditional Plant used as home remedies for Diabetic Foot Ulcer

Abstract:Diabetes Mellitus or DM is a heterogeneous group of disorder related with carbohydratemetabolism. Around the world it is accounting for large number of deaths per year due to variouscomplications associated with the disease. Patient with diabetes suffer from nephropathy,neuropathy, retinopathy etc. Among which Diabetic foot ulcer or DFU is a multifactorial diseaseconnected with diabetic neuropathy and is the major cause of hospitalization and lower limbamputation in Diabetic patient. There is 2% risk of developing wound in patient with diabetesand it can reoccur even after getting cured which makes the course of treatment troublesome.Prevalence of getting DFU is more in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and patient over the age of 30years. In India people are not very much concerned towards regular foot checkups and also foundto be accompanied with ill fitted shoes which are the major risk of getting DFU. The currentarticle focuses on some easy to do home remedies to prevent and treat DFU. It will encourage thepatient for self- assessment of wound at early stage and helps to reduce the risk of amputation.
