D2.1 Requirements and Needs Analysis Methodology

In the Desk research section, articles on virtual laboratories in engineering education between 2024 and 2014 were analysed in three dimensions: 1) Level of awareness in VR-based engineering education in students and instructors, 2) Curriculum for advanced practical education for engineering lab, and 3) Components of the lab that can be enhanced or digitalised trough VR adaptation. A total of 102 publications and sources were analysed. Using the findings of the Desk Research, the focus group meeting methodology was determined to explore the topics studied in the Desk Research with at least three experts from the partners’ own country. A total of 25 experts attended the Focus Group meetings from 7 different countries (Türkiye, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Slovenia, Spain, and Azerbaijan).
