Dark Energy as a Topological Response to Information Saturation: An Information-Entropic Framework for Cosmological Evolution
This paper introduces an information-topological framework for interpreting dark energy as an emergent, dynamic property resulting from entropy flow stagnation within the topological structure of three-dimensional spacetime. Departing fundamentally from conventional cosmological constant and scalar-field models, we propose that cosmological expansion, dark matter effects, and the Big Bang itself are manifestations of a triadic sequence of topological phase transitions driven by entropy capacity constraints. By integrating concepts from topology, information theory, and statistical thermodynamics, the proposed theory redefines cosmic dynamics as an ongoing negotiation between information connectivity and spatial configuration capacity. We provide a comprehensive theoretical comparison with existing dark energy frameworks, highlighting key conceptual and predictive advantages, such as inherent resolution of the fine-tuning problem, Hubble tension, and absence of clustering phenomena. Additionally, we outline explicit falsifiability conditions through predicted deviations in the dark energy equation of state parameter \( w(z) \) and spatial variations in local Hubble rates correlated with entropy structures. To substantiate the framework’s theoretical robustness and empirical viability, we include a formal mathematical description of topological transitions, a numerical toy model illustrating entropy-driven dynamics, and an in-depth philosophical discussion of its implications for the nature of spacetime, time emergence, and cosmic evolution. If validated by future observational data, this information-topological cosmology could represent a paradigm shift towards viewing the universe not as a static backdrop, but as an evolving informational-geometric manifold.
