Optimization of Photo-enhanced Al2O3-MgO Co3O4 Nanocomposite to Degrade Chlorpyrifos Commercial Pesticide
Excess uses of pesticides lead to contamination of water bodies posing risks to both the environment as well as human health. In this work, authors focused on photocatalytic degradation of Chlorpyrifos (liquid 20%) commercial grade pesticide degraded by using Al2O3-MgO-Co3O4 synthesized nanocomposite under natural irradiation and found significant progress about 74.98 % degradation of pesticide. The efficacy of the synthesized nanocomposite for pesticide removal was indicated. The simple co-precipitation method was followed to obtain a nanocomposite of Al2O3-MgO-Co3O4 and characterized by SEM, XRD, BET, UV-visible, and FTIR to analyze the nature of the phase.
