Exclusive spaces, inclusive activities - Cathedral canons and their curiae. Graph based modelling of social and spatial networks
Medieval cathedral closes and their buildings are regarded as exclusive areas within a medieval city structure, separated from the civic sphere of the city. At the same time, the cathedral canons were able to develop from members of a seemingly homogeneous community into independent actors whose radius of action extended far beyond the cathedral close and included different social spheres. In order to discover the relations between these religious, social and economic activities of the cathedral canons and their building activities within the cathedral close and their houses, a socio-spatiotemporal graph has been modelled.
