How does the brain work?

Conventional explanations often look at the brain either from a purely physical perspective (as a complex network of electrical signals) or from a psychological perspective (as a site of mental processes). However, neither approach manages to completely bridge the gap between the physical structure of the brain and its mental functions. In this article, we present an approach based on the concept of "polyvalence coupling" – a principle that could help to look at the mystery of brain function from a completely new perspective.

Abstract

Conventional explanations often look at the brain either from a purely physical perspective (as a complex network of electrical signals) or from a psychological perspective (as a site of mental processes). However, neither approach manages to completely bridge the gap between the physical structure of the brain and its mental functions. In this article, we present an approach based on the concept of "polyvalence coupling" – a principle that could help to look at the mystery of brain function from a completely new perspective.
