Drifting Ears on Rivers: A Scalable IoT-Based System for Spatiotemporal Mapping of Anthropogenic Noise Pollution in Freshwater Ecosystems
This study presents a novel framework using low-cost, IoT-enabled acoustic drifters and a Graph Convolutional Network to generate high-resolution maps of river noise, successfully identifying vessel traffic as the dominant acoustic source and pinpointing localized hotspots of intense pollution.
