AS TECNOLOGIAS DIGITAIS E A EDUCAÇÃO DE ADOLESCENTES: INTER-RELAÇÕES ENTRE PESQUISA, ENSINO, EXTENSÃO E GESTÃO
There has been a recent intensification, without scientific knowledge, of the movement in Brazil and around theworld to ban cell phones in schools, due to a certain moral panic associated with digital technologies and theinternet. In this context, it is important to investigate strategies for educating adolescents about digital cultureand invest in training managers, teachers, and family members to understand possibilities for educating themabout the use of such technologies in the different spaces and times in which adolescents access them, insideand outside of school: classrooms, recess, public and private spaces. This text presents a research project, startedin August 2024, that proposes the study of adolescents' digital practices at school and at home, the investigationof mediation strategies and communication styles related to digital practices that teachers, management, andfamily members have used, and the development and analysis of digital literacy proposals in schools that helpadolescents explore the potential and protect themselves from the risks related to the use of such devices. Theresearch, carried out at the UFMG Pedagogical Center, in addition to participant observation, mobilizes, as partof the research methodology, teaching and extension actions, with possible repercussions on the schoolcurriculum, on the training of subjects and on reflection on management based on academic evidence.
