DEVICE FOR THE TREATMENT OF MULTIPLE FLOATING RIB FRACTURES

Many authors use a method for the treatment of multiple double rib fractures, which consists in using traction using bullet forceps for the flotation rib valve through the blocks. The disadvantage of the treatment method used is the complexity and high traumatism, a large number of complications and extreme inconvenience for the patient. A significant number of complications are associated with the need to fix the rib valve with bullet forceps for the ribs, while damage to the neurovascular bundle passing along the lower edge of the ribs is possible. In order to prevent this type of complication, we have developed and recommended for widespread use in the clinical network a device for the treatment of multiple flocculating rib fractures.
