Orthodontic management for delayed eruption of multiple teeth with undiagnosed vitamin D deficiency leads to secondary hyperparathyroidism -A rare case report
Abstract An otherwise healthy individual may not consider a delay in tooth emergence of up to 12 months to be important, but significant deviation from established norms should prompt the clinician to perform various diagnostic tests to assess the systemic health of the patient. This case report showed the orthodontic management of delayed tooth eruption in all four quadrants in a 16-year-old female with secondary hyperparathyroidism caused by a vitamin D deficit that had not previously been recognised.
