The influence of carbon and nitrogen nutrition sources on the growth and spore-forming activity of the fungus Phlebiopsis gigantea (Fr.) Jülich.
The influence of different sources of carbon and nitrogen nutrition, carbon-to-nitrogen ratios (C : N) on the growth and spore-forming activity of the Phlebiopsis gigantea P-1-96 in liquid culture has been studied. The sources of nitrogen (peptone) and carbon (glucose) were identified which contribute to fungus P. gigantea biomass growth in the most efficient way. It was found that arabinose, cellulose, glucose and peptone are the most favorable for the oidiogenesis of the studied macromycete. The ratio of carbon to nitrogen in the nutrient medium (9 : 1) was found to be optimal for the growth and sporulation of the local strain P. gigantea Р-1-96.
