Dark Matter and Dark Energy from the Perspective of the Higher-Dimensional Information Field: A Novel Hypothesis within the Entropy-Induced Collapse (EIC) Framework
This paper is part of the Entropy-Induced Collapse (EIC) Model Series (2025). It proposes a novel extension of the EIC framework by introducing a higher-dimensional information field \Phi(x,t) that becomes physically relevant under local or global entropy gradients. This field, projected from a higher-dimensional informational substrate, offers a unified explanation for dark matter and dark energy. In this hypothesis, localized condensations of \Phi(x,t) produce gravitational effects that mimic dark matter, while global activations account for the accelerated expansion of the universe. The model naturally integrates into modified Einstein field equations and provides a new interpretation of cosmological observations such as galactic rotation curves, Type Ia supernovae, and the CMB polarization spectrum. The paper derives the Lagrangian for the information field, constructs the corresponding energy-momentum tensor, and formulates experimental proposals involving MEMS gravimeters, superconducting qubits, and gravitational wave detectors. These experiments aim to detect gravitational signatures of entropy-driven information field activation. This research builds on prior work in the EIC model series, which integrates non-equilibrium thermodynamics, quantum collapse, and quantum information theory. It reflects a broader vision of unifying gravity, quantum mechanics, and information through experimentally testable models. The author encourages collaboration from interdisciplinary researchers interested in cosmology, quantum foundations, and theoretical physics.
