ANALYZING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF AUTOMATED INCIDENT RESPONSE MECHANISMS IN REDUCING DOWNTIME AND IMPROVING SERVICE RELIABILITY IN LARGE-SCALE DISTRIBUTED SYSTEMS
As large-scale distributed systems become increasingly complex, ensuring service reliability and minimizing downtime is critical. Automated incident response mechanisms (AIRM) play a crucial role in swiftly identifying, diagnosing, and mitigating failures, reducing the impact on end-users. This paper explores the effectiveness of AIRM in improving service reliability, reducing mean-time-to-resolution (MTTR), and maintaining system resilience. We review contemporary literature from 2024, conduct data-driven analysis, and present empirical results comparing automated and manual incident response approaches. Our study highlights key benefits, challenges, and future directions for optimizing AIRM in large-scale environments.
